Here at Morph, we love all things Lego. So with the new Lego Movie out on June 17th we thought it would be an ideal time to share with you some of our favourite Lego creations, from Halloween costumes to movie tributes.
1. Lego Matrix Movie Tribute
If you didn’t think the awesome special effects from the bullet dodge scene in The Matrix would translate well in the medium of stop motion then you need to see this clip which took a staggering 440 hours (18 days!) to create. Time well spent, we say.
2. Lego Michael Jackson “Beat it” Music Video
This painstaking recreation of one of Jackson’s trademark short film-esque music videos is quite long at five minutes, but well worth a watch to see the minifig dance sequences emulating the original video.
3. Bricksy – the Banksy tribute
Canadian photographer Jeff Friesen has reimagined Banksy’s classic street art as LEGO dioramas including the Pulp Fiction Bananas and Kissing Coppers.
4. Lego Master Creations
A master builder and photographer, Chris portrays unexpected real life objects made from these little bricks, like this Cadbury’s crème egg (yes this is really made from bricks).
5. Lego Insane creations.
A 1:25 ratio Airbus A380, measuring 9.5ft. long with a 10.5ft. wingspan and just over three feet tall in 75,000 LEGO blocks.
6. Home-made Lego Halloween Costumes
After going to see the new film, six-year-old Hope Baker-Billy was desperate to dress up as her favourite character Emmet. So dad Paul splashed out over $80 on materials and spent more than two full days spray painting and glueing camping roll mats together to create his amazing life-sized costume.
Hope was thrilled with her new 4ft tall outfit and although it is so sturdy she is unable to sit down, she loves re-enacting scenes from the film in it.
7. Create your own Mr Blockhead.
