Group Costume Ideas and Couples Costumes

Group costume ideas by theme

Each idea keeps the group on one theme while giving everyone their own costume: a cast of four roles, a crew that mixes ages, or one design in three colors.

Cops and robbers hands four people four jobs: the Mens Cop Kit Costume comes with a hat, belt, handcuffs, and aviator sunglasses in one size for adults in medium to large, and the Womens USA Police Sergeant Costume adds a hat, belt, prop walkie talkie, and handcuffs, in sizes small to 2XL. Opposite them, the Men's Striped Burglar Costume brings a beanie, eye mask, gloves, and a money bag, in sizes M to XXL, and the Men's Orange Prisoner Costume is a boiler suit with handcuffs included, in sizes medium to XL.

A pirate crew can mix ages: the Men's Rum Smuggler Pirate Costume adds a tricorn hat with a dreadlock wig, in sizes M to XL, while the Boys Pirate Captain Costume sets sail with a hat, eyepatch, foam sword, and blue sash, in kids sizes from toddler to large. The Women's Buccaneer Girl Pirate Costume rounds out the crew with a corset-look coat, frill-hem dress, and feathered hat, in sizes small to XXL.

Three friends can settle a sumo bout in three colors: the Mens Sumo Megamorph Inflatable Costume Red, Mens Sumo Megamorph Inflatable Costume Blue, and Mens Sumo Megamorph Inflatable Costume Black are each a one-piece inflatable suit with muscles, tassels, and a headpiece. A battery-powered fan inflates the suit (four AA batteries are required and not included), and one size fits most adults.

For a flower-power crew, the Men's Groovy Hippie Costume is a patterned jacket with matching 70s flared pants and a peace sign necklace, in sizes M to XL. The Women's Groovy Hippie Costume is a multi-colored print dress with a peace symbol necklace, in sizes small to large, and the Girls Hippie Costume adds a printed dress, tan vest, leg warmers, and a headband, in four sizes for ages 4 to 14.

An adult sheriff leads this Wild West posse: the Men's Western Sheriff Costume is a long black jacket with a pinstriped vest, cowboy hat, and two holsters, in sizes M to 3XL. The Girls Cowgirl Cutie Costume pairs a frilled-sleeve dress with a mock cow print vest and a brown hat, in small to large, and the Boys Cowboy Costume with Pistols has a vest with a sheriff's badge, chap-style pants, a hat, and two toy pistols, in small and medium.

Couples, families, and bigger squads

For two, our couples costumes pair matching looks. For a family or a bigger squad, our group and family costumes cover adults and kids. Build your own cast from mens costumes, womens costumes, or kids costumes. The themes above have their own pages too: pirate costumes, wild west costumes, and uniform costumes. Sizing a group order

Each costume here follows its own size guide, so check each one before ordering. Men's costumes mostly size by chest measurement, women's by clothing size, and kids' by age and height, while the sumo suits are one size fits most adults. Give fabric costumes a cold hand wash and an air dry; the sumo suits take a sponge wipe with the fan pack removed.

Frequently asked questions

What are good group costume ideas?

Give each person a role in one theme, as cops and robbers, a pirate crew, or a Wild West posse do, or dress everyone in one design in different colors, as the three sumo suits do.

What costume idea works for a group of four?

Cops and robbers splits four ways: an officer each from the Mens Cop Kit Costume and the Womens USA Police Sergeant Costume, then a burglar and a prisoner.

What are funny group costume ideas?

Try an inflatable sumo bout. The suits come in red, blue, and black, and one size fits most adults.

What group costume works for a mix of kids and adults?

Pirates, hippies, and Wild West posses each pair kids' costumes with adult ones, such as a Girls Hippie Costume beside the Women's Groovy Hippie Costume.

How do I size a group order when everyone is a different build?

Check each product's own size guide rather than matching sizes across the group: most men's costumes here size by chest measurement, women's by clothing size, and kids' by age and height.
