What we build into a kids Morphsuit
Three things decide whether a costume gets worn again next year. Can they see out of it. Can they get it on without help. Does it survive a night of running about.
Ours are a stretchy spandex and polyester blend from 125GSM up, so it holds its shape and does not go transparent, checked across more than 30 measurements before it ships. Everything the photo shows is in the pack, and there are no missing accessories to discover an hour before you leave.
Questions parents ask
What is a kids Morphsuit?
A full-body suit that covers a child from head to toe in one piece, including the face. You will also see them called bodysuits, skin suits or blackout suits. We made the original in 2009, in adult sizes first, and the children's version followed.
Can children see and breathe through a Morphsuit?
Yes. The fabric across the face is thin enough to see and breathe through easily, and it is worth letting them try it on indoors first so they know that before they are out in the dark. From the outside it looks solid.
Is a Morphsuit comfortable enough for trick or treating?
It is one of the better options for a long walk, because there is nothing rigid, nothing to carry and nothing that catches on a gate. Put a base layer underneath for warmth rather than choosing a bigger size, which only makes it bag at the knees.
Can my child wear a Morphsuit to a school Halloween event?
Usually, but check the school's rules first. Some ask that faces stay visible, in which case the mask rolls down and sits at the neck and the rest of the costume still works. Worth asking before the morning of the event.
How do I make sure a Morphsuit is safe after dark?
Visibility is the thing to plan for, because a dark full-body suit is hard for a driver to see. Add something reflective or light-coloured that shows from the front and the back, or pick one of our brighter designs rather than a black one for a route with roads on it.
